Southmolton, Devon - to be peremptorily Sold, by Public Auction, at the White
Hart Inn, in the town of Southmolton aforesaid, on Wednesday the 11th day of
October next, at Four o'clock in the Afternoon, either together or in Lots,
as shall be thought most advisable at the time of Sale, for the Residue of Two
several Terms of 1000 Years and 1000 Years nearly the whole of which are unexpired;
all that commodious Dwelling House, and Tan-Yard Behind the same, situate in
East-Street, in the town of Southmolton aforesaid, now in the occupation of
Mr. John Cook, who has a Lease thereon for the Term of 4 Years, from
Lady-Day next.
The House consists of 2 parlous in front, each 17feet by 11, an office or counting-house,
2 kitchens, cellars, and 6 bedrooms, with convenient stables and offices. There
is a large Walled Garden, well stocked with choice fruit trees, and a small
Orchard belonging to the same. The Tan-Yard contains 6 taps and spenders, 19
layers, 44 handlers, 3 limbers, 2 watering pits, 2 grainers, mill-house, with
spacious bark and drying-sheds, &c.
Also, all those several newly-erected Cottages or Dwelling-Houses, adjoining
to the said Tan-Yard, now in the occupation of William Hill and others,
as Tenants from Year to Year.
And also, a Field, or Close of Land, nearly adjoining to the said Tan-Yard and
Dwelling Houses, containing by estimation upwards of Three Quarters of an Acre,
which is also Let from Year to Year.
N.B. A deposit of £20. per Cent. Will be expected.
