1936 The grave of Robert George Taylor at Greenbank, Bristol
"It was like royalty had died" Elsie Taylor said. Gatton Road, St Werburghs was full of cars ready to take family and friends to Greenbank for Robert's burial. He had died of cancer of the stomach at the Bristol Royal Infirmary. He wouldn't wear his glasses and he had misjudged some stairs and hit himself very badly in the stomach. "That was the start of it" according to Elsie Taylor. Now on Sundays Elsie would sit with her mother (Matilda) in the front room at 34 Gatton Road to keep her company. The gravestone has now been removed. The grave is situated near the Golden Valley entrance.
