MARK WATTS great, great, great, great grandfather of Ventonleague, Phillack, Cornwall, bapt May 11th 1760 at Towednack, Cornwall.;
Buried April 7th 1833 Ventonleague, Hayle, Cornwall. He was the son of ROGER WATTS and BRIDGET WATTS (nee HOLLOW).

He married MARY HOSKING February 24th, 1784 in Phillack, Cornwall. presumably Mary is a member of one of the local Hosking families.
There were several Watts - Hosking marriages but to date I cannot fit Mary into any of the families I have found.

MARY HOSKING, of Phillack; died May 21st, 1790 in Phillack, Cornwall .Daughter of UNKNOWN HOSKING and UNKNOWN HOSKING (nee UNKNOWN) of Phillack, Cornwall. There are a few Hosking - Watts marriages at Phillack which might give a clue as to the parents of Mary Hosking as the various Hoskings may be related..

(2) Prudence Watts possibly married Charles Harry 25th February 1809 Phillack, Cornwall. Possibly had several marriages.

(3) MARY WATTS, bapt March 13th, 1790 in Phillack, Cornwall; Her mother Mary Watts (nee Hosking) was buried May 21st 1790 dying soon after Mary's birth ; married FRANCIS HOCKING UREN (Sojourner of Phillack at Marriage) June 22nd, 1811 at Phillack, Cornwall. Son of GEORGE UREN and ELIZABETH UREN (nee HOCKING).

Elizabeth is living with her mother and aunt Jane Watts, a few houses from her future husband Jacob Luke (whom she married in 1846) and his family - no idea how Mary Kneebone connects - no idea where Francis Uren, Elizabeth's father is either- as he is alive in 1841.

Fireman **POET**
MARK WATTS (1798-1876) A fireman at the CCC for many years; leader of the Church Choir and a Poet. He composed many long pieces, of up to 36 verses of 4 lines each, which were printed by J O Harris (the Hayle Printer) on single sheets, which Watts himself sold on the streets. Included were poems on the Harvey family, Hayle Foundry, the Hayle Railway and the CCC. The last was called "A True Tale" and comprised of 26 verses of 4 lines covering the Cornish Copper Company 's History to it's closure
