Most of these details were collected by me when I was a child and even more inaccurate than I am now! Everything must be checked against original documents.

How long have the Dades been in Somerset surrounding counties? Are my Dade ancestors related to the Dades from Suffolk and Norfolk?

Is this the same Thomas Dade of Salisbury who married Agnes Lyte daughter of Bartholomew Lyte (died 1561) and buried at Charlton Mackrell, Somerset and granddaughter of John Lyte of Lytescary born 1523 by his wife Edith Horsey of Martin, Wiltshire.

1610 These documents are held at Cheshire and Chester Archives and Local Studies Service Related information: See ZM/L/2/239 Contents:Letter from Thomas Dade to the Mayor of Chester; from Bemerton. He has received the Mayor's letter informing him of the detention of his son because divers things unfitting for a traveller were found about him. He describes the circumstances of his son's departure from home upon this idle journey, upon some discord with his wife, during the writer's absence from home, and enumerates the moneys and other things which his son took with him. States that he had intended to "place hym towardes his lyving somwaye" as soon as it was convenient, and to give him some like quantity of stock to trade on; therefore he thinks he will let him try his wits with what he has taken, and he asks the Mayor to set him free and to re-deliver the monies and goods to him.

It was a patent to do with spinnning gold and thread.

Dade descendant James Walter Grimston, 1st Earl of Verulam was born on 26 September 1775. He was the son of James Bucknall Grimston, 3rd Viscount Grimston and Harriot Walter.2 He married Lady Charlotte Jenkinson, daughter of Charles Jenkinson, 1st Earl of Liverpool and Catherine Bisshopp, on 11 August 1807. He died on 17 November 1845 at age 70.
James Walter Grimston, 1st Earl of Verulam gained the title of 1st Earl of Verulam.

and imprisoned at Ichester and he escaped with other prisoners therefore if he should be found let
